Senior Gabby Turco of the Wildwood Catholic High School girls basketball team has been selected to play in the North-South state all-star game scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at Rider University.
The North-South game annually brings together the state’s best players in the senior class.
Turco, who scored her 1,000th career point last month, is averaging 15.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.4 steals for the Crusaders so far this season.
She has helped Wildwood Catholic emerge as one of South Jersey’s top teams. The Crusaders take a record of 18-2 into today’s game at Our Lady of Mercy Academy. The team is tied with Middle Township atop the Cape-Atlantic United Conference.
Turco is set play college basketball at St. Anselm’s College (N.H.), one of the top Division II programs on the East Coast.
Turco is the lone Cape May County player selected to play in the girls North-South game. She joins Mainland center and Oregon signee Kylee Watson as the only CAL players invited to play in the contest.
