WHITESBORO — The South Jersey Future Stars eighth-grade basketball inter-county all-star games were held Friday evening at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center.
In the girls game, Atlantic County defeated Cape May-Cumberland, 55-49. Reese Downey scored 10 points and Julia Hartman and Averie Harding each added eight points for the winners. Macie McCracken sank 12 points and McKenzie Palek and Madelynn Adamson each chipped in 10 points in the loss.
Cape May-Cumberland posted a 77-68 victory over Atlantic in the boys game. Ryan McGrath pumped in 18 points, Noah Stokes scored 15 points, Aydan Howell registered 14 points and Braswell Thomas chipped in 10 points for Cape May-Cumberland. C.J. Ford poured in 25 points and Gabe Gillespie scored 15 points in the loss.
